Boncourt–Delle border crossing: clearing a vehicle from France in the Jura
By Anna Katharina Finsler, Managing Director, Finsler Customs GmbH · Last updated:
In Boncourt we clear vehicles from France in the Basic package for CHF 350 incl. VAT. The Boncourt/Delle-Autoroute office clears Monday to Friday without a break from 07:00 to 17:30, not on Saturdays. You enter the order online, we declare it, and you collect the papers at the counter in Boncourt.
Where is the Boncourt–Delle border crossing?
Boncourt is in the Ajoie in the canton of Jura, opposite the French town of Delle in the Territoire de Belfort. The A16 motorway (Transjurane) runs from Biel via Delémont and Porrentruy to the border; the office «Boncourt/Delle-Autoroute» (CH001141) is at Plateforme douanière 3.
Who is Boncourt–Delle a good fit for?
Boncourt is close if the vehicle is in Belfort, Montbéliard or elsewhere in Franche-Comté. On the Swiss side it suits the Jura, the Bernese Jura, Biel and the Seeland, all directly connected by the A16.
Open over lunch, closed on Saturdays
Boncourt clears vehicles over lunch as well. Geneva-Bardonnex and Chavornay close between 12:00 and 13:00. On the other hand, Boncourt is closed to vehicle imports on Saturdays; the only one of our crossings into France with Saturday hours is Basel/St-Louis (07:00–13:00).
How customs clearance works with Finsler Customs
- Enter the order online. In the import calculator you choose the Basic package and the Boncourt–Delle crossing. Then you upload the purchase contract, registration certificate and COC and set the day you will cross the border.
- Declaration. We file the electronic import declaration for the vehicle. On site, a customs partner we work with handles the clearance for us.
- Collect the papers. On the agreed day you cross at Boncourt–Delle and collect the assessment notice and the inspection report 13.20 A at the counter in Boncourt.
- Charges. The 4 % automobile tax and 8.1 % import VAT go through our customs account and are passed on without mark-up; import duty has been CHF 0 since 1 January 2024. Our flat fee: CHF 350 incl. VAT, the same at every crossing.
Export formalities in the country of origin are not part of the Basic package: the export declaration is made there by the seller or a customs agent. If you want us to handle transport and export as well, choose Comfort or Premium. With the inspection report 13.20 A you then book the vehicle inspection (MFK) and registration in your canton.
