Privacy policy
In short: Finsler Customs GmbH, Rebbergstrasse 6, 8240 Thayngen, is responsible for processing personal data under the Swiss Data Protection Act. We process contact, contract and technical data to answer enquiries and carry out imports, and share it with authorities and service providers where the import or the website requires it (e.g. hosting, Google). Information, correction, deletion or objection: info@finsler-customs.ch.
What we process
- Contact data — name, address, e-mail and phone number when you write to us, request a quotation or commission an import
- Contract data — vehicle details, calculations, invoices and customs documents. From uploaded vehicle documents (registration certificate, COC, purchase contract or invoice) a Gemini language model reads, via Lovable, the details for the export power of attorney; we store only those details. The order page notes that they were read automatically; they are pre-filled in the power of attorney, which you or the seller check before signing
- Dealer channel — if a car dealer in Germany instructs us to import a vehicle for a customer in Switzerland, we receive the end customer's details from the dealer, including a copy of the identity document; we delete such copies 90 days after the order is completed. Section 14 of the full policy explains the details
- Technical data — server logs and, with your consent, analytics on how the website is used. Lovable, our hosting platform, sets cookies for this, including from its analytics service PostHog and from Google Analytics, and may use marketing cookies from Facebook/Meta and Google Ads
Why
To answer enquiries, prepare offers, carry out import orders and meet legal retention duties. Data is passed to third parties where the import or the operation of the website requires it:
- Authorities — the Federal Office for Customs and Border Security, the Swiss Federal Office of Energy, the Federal Roads Office and the cantonal road traffic offices; other offices, courts and authorities in Switzerland and abroad where we are legally obliged or entitled to, or where it is needed to protect our interests
- Bodies involved in the import — the seller of the vehicle abroad, transport and freight forwarding companies, customs agents, inspection centres and garages, insurers
- Website and office — Lovable (platform and hosting, automatic e-mails, sign-in, language models), Supabase (database, user accounts, file storage), Microsoft 365 (mailbox and automatic e-mails), bexio (quotations and invoices), Google (sign-in with a Google account, Gemini language models) and Apple (sign-in with an Apple account)
- Calculators — OpenStreetMap Foundation (Nominatim) and Project OSRM for places and routes, Zippopotam.us for postcodes, ipify to tell sessions apart and detect misuse, Firecrawl and Jina AI to read vehicle listings, flagcdn.com for the flags in the language selector
- Others — further service providers in IT, communication, consulting, debt collection, banking and insurance, and our contractual partners
Your IP address reaches Lovable, Google if you sign in with a Google account, ipify, flagcdn.com and, if the vehicle is in a country other than Germany, Zippopotam.us and OSRM, which your browser then queries directly. Nominatim, OSRM and Zippopotam.us receive the postcode or place you enter, Firecrawl and Jina AI the link to the listing, not your name. The German version describes every recipient in detail.
Your rights
You may request information about the data we hold, have it corrected or deleted, and object to processing. Write to info@finsler-customs.ch. The full German version of this policy is authoritative.
